Question for: Apr 22, 2024

St. Peter was the first Bishop of Rome, and thus, the first Pope. What was the name of the second pope who served from c. AD 67 until his death c. 78 AD? This man is mentioned in the New Testament in the valediction of the Second Epistle to Timothy as being with Paul the Apostle near the end of Paul's life. (note: Tertullian asserted that St. Clement followed St. Peter, but that account is not widely accepted.)
